Barcelona packing list for families

Barcelona is a city trip and a beach trip in one, so your bags need to handle Gaudí mornings, sandy afternoons, and dinners that start after dark. Here is how I pack for it with kids, month by month.

Kristina's notes on Barcelona

  1. Book the Sagrada Família and Park Güell for a set time before you land. Timed tickets sell out in busy months, and a morning slot keeps little legs fresh.
  2. Dinner here starts late, often 9 pm. I give kids a real tapas snack around 6 so nobody melts down, then we treat dinner as the fun late night out.
  3. Pickpockets work Las Ramblas and the metro. I carry a crossbody that zips and keep phones out of back pockets, and I teach the kids to do the same.
