Copenhagen packing list for families

Copenhagen is easy with kids, but the wind off the harbor and the quick-changing skies catch a lot of families off guard. Here is what we pack to bike, swim, and wander comfortably in any season.

Kristina's notes on Copenhagen

  1. Copenhagen is windy even in July, so I pack a light windproof layer for everyone and skip the heavy coats unless we're coming in winter.
  2. Renting a cargo bike with a kid box is one of my favorite ways to see the city. Bike lanes are wide and separated, but practice a few laps in a quiet spot before you join the morning rush.
  3. Tivoli Gardens runs in seasons, not year-round, so check the dates before you build your trip around it. The Halloween and Christmas seasons are just as fun for kids as summer.
