Florida Keys packing list for families
The Keys are a water trip more than a beach trip, with reef snorkeling, sandbars, and boat days down the island chain. Packing for life on the water makes all the difference.

Kristina's notes on Florida Keys
- The Keys are more about the water than wide sandy beaches. Plan boat, snorkel, and sandbar days, and pack for them.
- The drive from Miami to Key West takes about four hours with traffic. Break it up with a stop or a night in Islamorada.
- Summer and fall are hurricane season. I recommend travel insurance for June through November trips.
