Outer Banks packing list for families
An Outer Banks week usually means a beach house, a full car, and long days on wide open sand. A few smart extras make the rental feel like home and the beach days run smoother.

Kristina's notes on Outer Banks
- Many Outer Banks rental houses do not include sheets and towels. Check your rental details early, then either pack them or reserve a linen service.
- Rip currents are a real concern here. Swim near lifeguard stands, check the flag colors each day, and teach kids to swim parallel to shore if they feel pulled out.
- When you go to see the wild horses in Corolla, plan on a guided 4x4 tour or a car with four-wheel drive, and keep at least 50 feet away. That rule protects both the horses and the kids.
