Puglia packing list for families

Puglia is a slower, sunnier corner of Italy built around pools, beach clubs, and whitewashed towns. Packing for rocky swims and plenty of driving makes it simple with kids.

Kristina's notes on Puglia

  1. A masseria with a pool makes a great base with kids. Puglia is a driving trip, so plan on a rental car and short hops between towns.
  2. Along the Adriatic, many swim spots are rocky coves, while the Salento coast near Lecce has more sandy beaches. Beach clubs rent loungers and umbrellas, so you can travel lighter on beach gear.
  3. Locals eat late, and August is the busiest month for Italian families on holiday. I like June or September for warm water with more breathing room.
