Sun Valley ski packing list for families
Sun Valley pairs classic Idaho skiing with ice skating, heated pools, and a relaxed small-town feel. The mix of slope days and après fun means packing a little more than just ski gear.

Kristina's notes on Sun Valley Ski
- Dollar Mountain is wonderful for little skiers and beginners, while Bald Mountain is for stronger skiers. Many families split the day between the two, so I pack a small bag with a spare layer and snacks for the shuttle between them.
- Most people fly into the small airport in Hailey, and winter weather can occasionally divert flights. I keep medicine, pajamas, and a change of clothes for each kid in the carry-on just in case.
- Outdoor ice skating at Sun Valley Lodge is a family favorite in any season. Pack warm socks and thin gloves for skating, and a swimsuit for the heated outdoor pools.
