Victoria Falls packing list for families

Victoria Falls changes completely through the year, from soaking spray at high water to clear rock views when the river drops. Pack for getting wet, staying cool, and dusty game drives along the Zambezi.

Kristina's notes on Victoria Falls & Zambia

  1. When the falls are at full flow, the spray soaks you like a rainstorm. Pack a poncho and a waterproof phone pouch, and plan to change clothes afterward.
  2. Many families visit both the Zambia and Zimbabwe sides. Check current visa rules for both countries before you go so the border crossing is quick.
  3. Low water from about September to December shows more rock and less mist, while high water from March to May is the most dramatic. Pick based on what your family wants to see.
